Process
Simple from file to doorstep.
Four clear steps. Everything is visible before you commit — no surprises at any stage.
01
Upload your STL and configure
Upload your STL — the calculator reads the geometry directly and calculates volume, surface area, and a live price instantly. Choose material, colour, infill, layer height, wall thickness, and DFM tier. Everything updates in real time.
02
Add to basket
Add your configured part to the basket. The calculator resets — configure a second part if needed. Multiple parts with different settings in one order. The £8 handling fee applies once per order, not per item.
03
Checkout and upload your files
Proceed through checkout. Upload your STL — and optionally include a STEP, OBJ, or 3MF file if you'd prefer we print from that. Apply a discount code if you have one. Pay by card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.
04
Inspected and dispatched
Every part is checked for dimensional accuracy, layer adhesion, and surface quality before dispatch. Tracked UK delivery. Typical lead time 48–72 hours from order confirmation. Tracking number sent once dispatched.
Materials
What we print with.
Two materials, chosen for engineering relevance. Default settings are dialled in for both — change them only if you have a specific requirement.
P
PLA — General purpose
Best for visual prototypes, fit checks, and low-stress applications. Excellent surface finish. Easy to post-process and paint. Slightly more brittle than PETG but clean and precise.
From £0.80 / gram
G
PETG — Functional parts
Better impact resistance, chemical resistance, and dimensional stability than PLA. Slightly more flexible. The right choice for parts that will see real-world load, heat, or exposure.
From £1.12 / gram
FAQ
Common questions.
What file formats do you accept?
STL is required for the pricing calculator — it's the only format we can analyse for volume and surface area. At checkout you can also upload a STEP, OBJ, or 3MF file if you'd prefer we print from that instead. Include both files and we'll cross-reference them.
What is the maximum build volume?
180 × 180 × 180mm per part. Parts exceeding this are flagged in the calculator — select the Advanced DFM tier and we'll split and optimise the body for you, or you can split it yourself before uploading.
How is the price calculated?
We calculate actual grams of filament used — shell material derived from your STL's surface area, plus your chosen infill percentage, plus a 10% waste factor, multiplied by material density to get grams, then priced per gram. A 15% efficiency reduction and 5% material rate reduction are already applied. This is the most accurate model-based pricing available without running the slicer.
Can I change my order after placing it?
Contact us immediately at. Once printing has started changes are not possible — but if you reach out quickly we'll do our best. For Advanced DFM orders there's a built-in approval step before printing begins, which gives you a natural opportunity to make changes.
What if my part has a defect on arrival?
Every part is inspected before dispatch. If something passes our inspection but fails on arrival, contact us with photos within 48 hours and we will reprint or refund. We stand behind every part we send.
How do I get the student or startup discount?
Students: email us from your .ac.uk address and we'll send you a 25% discount code. Startups: provide your Companies House number and we'll verify and send a 20% code within 24 hours. First-time buyers: use code FIRST15 at checkout for 15% off your first order.
